Early Christians described Christian discipleship as “faith seeking understanding.” In an age where faith is overruled by feeling and understanding is invalidated by emotion, articulating what it means for Christian faith to seek biblical understanding is all the more important. We are seeking to undertake this articulation, in part, in our upcoming Bible Class titled, “What Christians Believe.”
It is, of course, impossible to speak for all Christians. However, it is our desire to provide an explanation of Christian doctrine from an Evangelical point of view, at times emphasizing a distinctly Baptist understanding of the Scriptures. Our goal is to equip Christians to find deeper understanding of the faith and to education non-Christians about the faith. The goal of this class then is nothing less than discipleship, for making disciples is teaching people about the faith and about how to keep it.
We welcome all—whether you have thought deeply about Christianity or not at all—to join us in this study. For questions or more information, please call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
